The shear strength is the resistance that a solid body opposes tangential shear forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the shear test, a specimen is loaded with a normal stress that acts perpendicular to the shear surface and the shear force Fm is determined, which is required for the material separation. The shear force is distributed over the entire shear area S0, from which the shear strength T results.
