The images generated with a scanning electron microscope are three-dimensional images of the object surface and have an extremely high depth of field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We use the scanning electron microscope with EDX analysis \/ microanalysis for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Failure analysis, fracture analysis, wear analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage by corrosion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Damage caused by the effects of chemicals and other media on metals, plastics and elastomers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Material determinations, analysis of surfaces<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Particle analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Checking the manufacturing quality<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Damage analysis, breakage analysis, wear analysis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Using EDX analysis with SEM, traces of wear in a ball bearing can be shown vividly.<br>This is an important criterion for assessing damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure The IR microscope gives us useful results for particles up to 15 \u00b5m. Nevertheless, the use of a scanning electron microscope and EDX analysis is essential for inorganic substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EDX analysis detects the smallest elements that are contained in a sample. Electron microscopes are used for this, as they allow a significantly greater depth of field than light microscopes.
